Salesforce is the most powerful CRM on the market. It runs the sales operations of some of the world’s biggest companies, and almost anything can be customised, automated or connected. For a large organisation with complex processes, that power is worth paying for.

Most small and mid-sized UK businesses have a different problem. They need to capture leads, follow up quickly, run email campaigns, make calls and see what is working, without hiring a Salesforce administrator or a consultancy to set it up. That is the gap Telagus is designed to fill, as an all-in-one UK-based CRM platform. This guide compares the two on price, features, setup and support, using UK prices checked in October 2026.

Quick verdict

  • Choose Salesforce if you have complex, multi-team sales processes, need deep customisation or enterprise AI, and have the budget and people to implement and run it.
  • Choose Telagus if you want an all-in-one CRM with calling, SMS and email marketing that a small team can set up and use quickly, at a fraction of the cost, backed by UK-based human support. You can start on the free plan before you pay anything.

Pricing: what you actually pay

Salesforce charges for every user, every month, and many features are add-ons on top of the licence. Telagus charges one price per plan, and each plan includes a set number of users plus allowances for leads, marketing emails, call minutes, SMS and AI. You can pay annually, which is the cheapest option and the price shown below, or month to month.

Salesforce editions (UK)

Edition Price per user per month Billing
Free Suite £0 Limited features
Starter Suite £20 Monthly or annually
Pro Suite £80 Annually
Core £156 Annually
Advanced £316 Annually
Max £440 Annually

On top of licences, many businesses budget for add-ons (for example, API access is an extra charge on Pro Suite, and Agentforce AI is bought separately on Core and Advanced) and for implementation help from a Salesforce partner when their setup goes beyond the basics.

Starter, Growth and Business are also available month to month at a higher monthly price. Monthly plans get one twelfth of the yearly allowances each month; Starter, for example, includes 5,000 emails, 100 call minutes, 50 SMS/MMS credits and 500 AI credits a month.

Annual licence cost by team size

Team size Telagus Salesforce Starter Suite Salesforce Pro Suite
2 users £340 (Starter) £480 £1,920
5 users £690 (Growth) £1,200 £4,800
10 users £1,249 (Business) £2,400 £9,600

List prices, annual billing, excluding VAT. Salesforce figures are licences only, with no calling, SMS, add-ons or implementation costs. For comparison, ten users on Salesforce Core would cost £18,720 a year.

Telagus is cheaper than Salesforce’s entry Suite at every team size shown, and it includes a phone system, SMS and email marketing volume that Salesforce prices separately. Against Pro Suite, which is where Salesforce adds quoting, forecasting and deeper automation, a ten-person team would pay £9,600 a year in Salesforce licences compared with £1,249 for Telagus Business. Both have a free option: Salesforce’s Free Suite and Telagus Forever Free are good for trying the software, but calling, SMS and serious email volume need a paid Telagus plan. Features compared

Sales and lead management

Salesforce sets the standard for pipeline management, forecasting, territory management and reporting, especially for large teams with many products and regions. Telagus focuses on what most SMEs need day to day: capturing leads from forms, chat, calls and website visits, tracking every interaction, prioritising by interest and following up automatically.

Communication built in

With Telagus, your team can call, text and email leads from inside the CRM from day one, using the numbers, minutes and SMS credits in your plan. Call tracking shows which campaigns generate calls. In Salesforce, telephony and SMS are usually added through partner apps, each with its own setup and cost.

Marketing

Telagus includes a drag and drop campaign builder, bulk email marketing and, from Growth, automated email funnels. Salesforce’s Suites include email marketing features, while more advanced marketing automation sits in separate Salesforce marketing products with their own pricing.

Quotes and reporting

Telagus includes a quote builder on every paid plan and marketing analytics that bring website, ads and campaign results into one dashboard. Salesforce adds quoting and forecasting from Pro Suite, with its most advanced reporting and analytics in the higher editions.

AI

Salesforce is investing heavily in AI through Agentforce, which can research accounts, nurture leads and draft emails. It is powerful, but it is bought on top of Core and Advanced, or bundled in the £440 Max edition. Telagus includes AI credits on every plan for writing emails, quotes, contracts and website content, offers a dedicated AI Sales Agent, and can connect to ChatGPT and Claude.

Where Salesforce is stronger

  • Customisation and scale. If you need custom objects, complex approval chains, multiple business units or thousands of users, Salesforce is built for it.
  • Ecosystem. Salesforce’s partner marketplace and the wider Salesforce product family cover almost any business need.
  • Advanced analytics and AI. Forecasting, pipeline inspection, conversation intelligence and Agentforce go well beyond what a small-business CRM offers.
  • Enterprise security and compliance features for organisations with strict requirements.

Where Telagus is stronger

  • Cost. A ten-person team on Telagus Business pays less per year than two people on Salesforce Pro Suite.
  • Speed to value. Most small teams can be up and running without an administrator or consultant, and can try it first on the free plan.
  • All-in-one communications. Calling, SMS, email marketing, call tracking and website visitor identification are included, not bolted on.
  • Predictable billing in pounds. One price per plan, paid annually or monthly, with usage allowances spelled out.
  • UK-based human support. Telagus is run from Wallington, Surrey, with priority support from Growth and training on Business.

  • You need custom objects and complex automation that a standard CRM cannot model.
  • You have, or plan to hire, a Salesforce administrator.

  • You want to know which marketing activity produces leads and calls.
  • You would rather spend your budget on winning customers than on licences and implementation.
